Yvonne Chaka Chaka Launches Women-led Radio Station

Why put yourself in one box when you could very well fit in so many others and empower many? Soweto-born Yvonne Chaka Chaka is one not to be bottled in a single-story and career. The multifaced jazz-singer has made herself comfortable in the music industry while gracing our screens for many years. She also remains at the forefront of many issues as a prominent activist who has won awards for her humanitarianism. She has served as an ambassador for Unicef and Rollback Malaria while leading her own organisation Princess Of Africa Foundation.

And now Chaka Chaka has unveiled a new radio station “WOMan Radio” led by women.

The business-woman aims to empower women by granting opportunities to pursue careers in entertainment. Chaka Chaka will explore talent in programming, producing, engineering, and managerial positions. The station will tackle topics such as health, politics, relationships, beauty and spirituality.

Several media personalities went on the congratulate Chaka Chaka. Namely, author Lesly Mofokeng shared a snap of the two in front of a billboard of the WOMan Radio. He wrote, “Up and up and up we go! Congratulations on your very own radio station and billboard Mother”.

We love to see the future redefined BY WOMEN, FOR WOMEN and very excited to see the line-up of hosts and the success of the new station.
